One hundred self portraits that capture the likenesses and personalities of children and youth who participated in 55 summer youth-development programs statewide will be on display at an art exhibit at the Children's Museum of Phoenix from through Nov. 29 to raise awareness of afterschool programs in Arizona.
The Children's Museum of Phoenix exhibit is scheduled in conjunction with the 11th annual Lights on Afterschool event on Oct. 21. More than one million Americans celebrate Lights on Afterschool at 7,500 events to call attention to the importance of afterschool programs that keep children safe, inspire them to learn and help working families.
The exhibit is free with admission to the Museum ($9 per person with children under 1 admitted free).
