Here: The Met: Live in HD returns for special summer encore

presentations

The Metropolitan Opera and NCM Fathom are presenting a series of encore performances from the historic archives of the Peabody Award-winning The Met: Live in HD series in select movie theaters nationwide. Fans across the country will enjoy the best seats in the house to some of the most acclaimed opera productions ever to hit the big screen.

Locally, the performances will be shown at AMC Ahwatukee 24, 4915 E. Ray Road, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursday matinees.

The schedule is as follows: Roméo et Juliette, today, June 23, and 24; Eugene Onegin, July 7 and 8; La Bohème, July 14 and 15; Turandot, July 21 and 22; and Carmen, July 28 and 29.

Near: Summer Movie Madness for kids at MADCAP

Theaters

Summer Movie Madness plays through Aug. 6 at MADCAP Theaters, 730 S. Mill Ave., Tempe.

Remaining films are Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius (June 23 to June 25), Rugrats in Paris (June 30 to July 2), Shark Tale (July 7 to 9), Spongebob Squarepants:  The Movie (July 14 to 16), Spiderwick Chronicles (July 21 to 23), Rugrats:  The Movie (July 28 to 30) and Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit (Aug. 4 to 6).

The G and PG rated films are $2 each. Tickets are available at www.madcaptheaters.com or at the door. Kids Packs will also be available at the concession stand, which include popcorn, candy and a juice box for $5.
