Due to overwhelming excitement for "THE Concert" featuring Donna Summer with The Phoenix Symphony on Oct. 16, additional limited seating starting at $50 has been added.

Previously taking place annually on New Year's Eve, the 2010/11 Gala will be on Oct. 16 and will feature the talents of Donna Summer and The Phoenix Symphony under the baton of The Virginia G. Piper Music Director, Michael Christie. "THE Encore" dinner party will feature short performances by some of the Valley's most talented, young musicians.

At 6:30 p.m., The Phoenix Symphony will take the stage for "THE Concert" featuring Donna Summer. Following the concert, musical vignettes by members of the Phoenix Youth Symphony will escort patrons to The Phoenix Convention Center for an evening filled with dinner and dancing with "THE Encore." A sumptuous dinner prepared by Chef Jesus Cibrian will be served at 9 p.m.

Since 1954, the annual benefit has raised money in support of the Symphony. Proceeds from this year's event will support The Phoenix Symphony's education, outreach and artistic activities.

Tickets for "THE Concert" as well as "THE Encore" start at $500. To purchase tickets, call the Phoenix Symphony Box Office at 602-495-1999. For more information about "THE Concert", contact The Phoenix Symphony Development Office at 602-495-1117, ext. 425.
