Do you love art? Do you value learning? Do you enjoy interacting with others? If so, the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art's (SMoCA) docent program may be just the thing to enrich your life.

SMoCA's docents are volunteers specially trained by the museum's education department to give tours of the exhibitions, talk about art in classrooms or lead visitors through the nearby sculpture in the Civic Center Mall park. Museum docents share behind-the-scenes details on art, architecture and design with adults and children. No prior experience is necessary.

A free and informative coffee meeting for prospective docents will begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, in the Stage 2 Theater at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, 7380 E. Second St., Scottsdale. Have a cup of joe, meet new friends who share your passion for art, and find out more about this fun and rewarding experience.
