The Drowsy Chaperone, the insanely ridiculous musical within a comedy, has been extended through April 10 at the Arizona Broadway Theatre.

This Tony Award-winning musical centers around a die-hard fan of vintage musicals, who - in an effort to lift his spirits - plays for the audience the original cast recording of a (fictional) Broadway musical entitled The Drowsy Chaperone. As soon as the needle touches the record, the musical suddenly bursts into life, transporting the audience to a nostalgic era crammed full of every cliché, gag and gimmick from the golden age of musicals.

Arizona Broadway Theatre, recognized as the "Best Playhouse" in the Valley by Phoenix Magazine, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a state-of-the-art professional dinner theatre that showcases actors and designers from New York City, the Greater Phoenix area and around the country. Additionally, all aspects of the productions are built at the theatre, making ABT one of the largest producers of live theatre in the state.

ABT is conveniently located south of W. Bell Road off the Loop 101, east of the Peoria Sports Complex. For tickets call the box office at (623) 776-8400 or visit www.azbroadway.org.
