The Sonoran Sunset Series has been in hiding for the summer months but is finally coming back for the fall.

Whether you want a relaxing evening to yourself or a night outdoors with the family, this free event will provide it. During the monthly concert series, visitors can lounge in the grass along the lakeside while watching the sunset fall and the stars light up at Veterans Oasis Park.

This September the local group “Exit 40” will kick off the series with a family-friendly performance on the lakeside amphitheater stage with country and old-time rock and roll music.

Guests have the option of purchasing snacks and beverages at the event or bringing their own goodies. Either way, everyone is encouraged to make themselves comfortable by bringing blankets, folding chairs and food.

If the monsoon or any other unexpected weather rolls in, the performance will be held indoors at the park’s Environmental Education Center.

Mark your calendars because the Sonoran Sunset Series will also be held on October 17, November 21 and December 19 and you can expect some of these performances to have a special holiday theme.
