The Valley Youth Theatre is bringing the story of Pinkalicious to the musical stage.
Based on the book by Victoria and Elizabeth Kann, the story follows a young girl named Pinkalicious, who eats one too many pink cupcakes and turns pink head to toe, which is a dream come true for the girl who is obsessed with the color pink. However, when Pinkalicious' pink color gets out of control, she has to try and figure out a way to get back to being her normal self.
Pinkalicious the musical debuted Friday at the downtown Valley Youth Theatre, 525 N. First St., and plays through Oct. 24. The musical stars numerous Valley kids and teens, including a young Chandler resident Courtney Barnes who plays the starring role of Pinkalicious.
The musical starts at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays; noon and 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays; and at 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Sundays.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance either at the Valley Youth Theatre box office, or online at www.vyt.com.
