With tickets on sale Nov. 11, the countdown begins to the New Year’s Eve Block Party on Mill. After a one-year hiatus, the longtime East Valley bash is coming back with a bang and a dash of family-friendly programming.

While the amped-up video dance stages, interactive games and local bands will still be featured on Mill Avenue between Fourth and Seventh streets, there will also be a Family Fun Zone with a Radio Disney Stage and a smorgasbord of food trucks. Party-goers with smart phones can snap pics and share them on Instagram at #TempeNYE or text New Year’s resolutions for a moment of fame on the big screens stationed throughout the downtown area.

Families with young kiddos who need to be in bed before midnight will still be able to ring in the New Year at 9 p.m. when fireworks will be set off and everyone cheers for 2014 in Puerto Rico and the Bahamas.

Adult party-goers will have another three hours to party down and enjoy the champagne and beer gardens before the official midnight confetti blast, fireworks display and Arizona’s biggest New Year’s Eve kiss. Afterward, they can catch a ride home on the light rail, which will offer free service from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Taxis will also be on hand.

Tickets are $20 until Dec. 2 and $25 after, with discounts available for Tempe residents. You can purchase tickets at Circle K or at blockpartyonmill.com.
