Whether you race like a hare or mosey like a tortoise, there’s a spot for you in Phoenix Zoo’s fifth annual Walk in the Wild, slated for Saturday, Feb. 16.
Along the 1-mile, non-competitive route through the park, walkers of all ages can learn about cheetahs and various species of tortoise, and collect tickets at mystery stops for a chance to win prizes in a post-walk raffle.
Participants receive a commemorative T-shirt, goodie bag and admission into the zoo for the day. All proceeds benefit the non-profit park.
Registration is available for teams through Feb. 13 and for individuals through Feb. 15. Registration is also available, for individuals only, 6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Feb. 16 at the zoo.
The race costs $30 for adults and $15 for children ages 3-12. Adults and kids walking with a team pay $20 and $10 a head, respectively. Zoo members get a discounted rate.
