It’s never too late to turn the tables of time and accomplish what you never thought you would be able to at Paint Party and Wine, an instructional paint party that allows individuals to channel their inner van Gogh regardless of their past artistic abilities.

“There is a point in an adult’s life where you just kind of decide: I can’t draw, I can’t paint, or I give up… I just wanted to go back in time and erase that and just give them a new idea of what they can do,” said Reagan Guzman, owner of Paint Party and Wine.

From stick-figure connoisseurs to present day Picassos, the step-by-step instruction gives painters of every kind the chance to create a colorful canvas masterpiece.

Guzman has loved art since she could hold a crayon and aspires to infuse her passion for painting through her instruction.

She always strives to orchestrate her class in a way that leaves her students with a sense of accomplishment and pride.

The swipe of a small round-tip paintbrush, ready-to-learn faces, and a relaxed environment allow Guzman to enter a blissful escape and take a “vacation” from her busy life as a wife, mother, and art teacher at Marcos de Niza High School in Tempe.

Guzman hopes to encompass her students in that same escape through a welcoming and cordial environment and tries “to make you feel at home, make it friendly, make it casual.”

Paint Party and Wine has a partnership with My Wine Cellar in Ahwatukee, which gives Guzman’s students the option to choose from a selection of savory appetizers and divine wine while painting.

Classes are every Saturday at 1 p.m. at My Wine Cellar, 5030 E. Warner Road. Private party reservations are also available with Guzman. Prices range from $30 to $40 dollars and $30 to $50 dollars for specialty paintings. Each class price includes one glass of wine, beer, juice, tea or non-alcoholic beverage, all necessary painting materials, a step-by-step demonstration, and your completed canvas creation.
