The ASU Project Humanities presentation of “An Evening of Poetry and Conversation with Nikki Giovanni” scheduled for tonight in Mesa has been canceled.

Giovanni’s appearance was scheduled for tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Mesa Arts Center, One E. Main St., Mesa, was the headline event for the spring 2014 Project Humanities initiative, “Humanity 101: Creating a Movement.” Giovanni, who was going to fly out of Charlotte, North Carolina, has been delayed by weather and could not travel to Arizona.

Project Humanities will continue on Friday, Feb. 14 with two lectures: “Becoming What We Are: Humanity as Fact and Aspiration by Dr. John Churchill at 1 p.m. at ASU’s Tempe campus, West Hall, room 130 and again at 5 p.m. with a film screening “Kindness is Contagious” and conversation with filmmaker Sara Glaser at ASU’s Tempe campus, Marston Exploration Theater, ISTB4.
