Dena Gershanov, a kindergarten teacher at Kyrene de los Cerritos, will have her December wedding compete tonight on TLC along with three other brides’ in the hopes of winning a free honeymoon.

In the season 4 premiere of the reality show “Four Weddings,” four brides agree to be guests at each other’s weddings and then judge which one is the best.

“It was fun to meet everybody and see behind the scenes how they filmed things and what all goes into filming a show like that,” said Gershanov, who has since taken her husband’s name of Lock.

Lock’s wedding was the first to take place, but she said knowing her wedding would have a national audience didn’t change any of her plans.

“I didn’t change anything for the show, but I don’t know if the other girls did,” she said. “They probably saw what I put into mine and if they wanted to step it up, but even if I was last I wouldn’t change anything.”

Lock describes herself and her husband Adam as very fun and light-hearted people, so they wanted to convey that aspect of their personalities on their special day. For example, the song they chose to play during the sand ceremony was “I Want to Grow Old With You” from “The Wedding Singer.”

Lock’s students also got involved. They all gave her marital advice, which were then printed off and placed in little picture frames throughout the venue. They also painted small pictures of daisies to be used as decorations.

“My job is important and being a young kid at heart is important. Adam is the biggest kid you’ll ever meet, and we wanted that to show through,” she said.

The show airs at 7 p.m. (10 p.m. ET) and again at 9 p.m. (midnight ET) tonight. Lock said although some of her friends are hosting mini-viewing parties, she and her husband will enjoy a quiet night at home.

“We just want to watch it together and just relive our wedding together,” she said. “I’m not really nervous what (the other brides) thought about my wedding because I loved my wedding and I would do it all over again.”
