Operators of the Old Town comedy club are inviting people to come in and watch them get schooled April 14 by one of primetime TV’s toughest personalities, bar-renovation bulldog Jon Taffer.

Stand Up Scottsdale will appear that night on “Bar Rescue,” a Spike TV program in which Taffer and a team of food, drink and service experts visit failing bars and nightclubs to remodel the space, re-train the staff and makeover the menu.

Stand Up Scottsdale will host a free comedy show at 8 p.m., followed by a free viewing party of the episode that features the club. A question-and-answer session will follow with staff members who participated in the taping. Stand Up Scottsdale is at 6820 E. Fifth Ave. For information, call (480) 882-0730.
