Student mariachi group to play Chandler’s El Zocalo

In honor of Mexican Independence Day, El Zocalo Mexican Grille in downtown Chandler will host the 12-member Mariachi Sones del Desierto on Sunday, Sept. 15.

The band is comprised of students and is mentored and sponsored by Desert Sounds, a non-profit group dedicated to enabling children to experience the joy of music.

The one-hour show starts at 6:30 p.m. There is no charge. For information, call (480) 861-3236 or visit DesertSounds.org.
