If you have a toddler between 2 and 6 years old, you have a Toddler-Teen. You know, the 4 year old who is going on 14? Toddler-Teens can be a challenge because you have to bump fists with them for their outgoing social skills. Like a teen, they hang out on your phone but only to run your battery down viewing movies, playing games or watching files go into the animated trashcan.

Toddler-Teens belong to an elite community inside the Barnes & Noble bookstore in Ahwatukee Foothills as they sip hot chocolate from the Starbucks near the magazine aisle; talking, playing, introducing themselves to one another and learning to read are top priorities. When the parents start the countdown ... "Two minutes!" ... they try to play faster, squeezing every second out of those two minutes. The farewell is always the same; they hug and wave bye-bye like they've exchanged numbers and will see each other again soon.

Toddler-Teens' sense of style is as over the top as their imaginations. Some favorite books include; Fancy Nancy, Pinkalicious and Paper Fashions Fancy, which includes paper, fabric pattern samples with tiny hangers. Dressing these future fashionistas in what you hope will be their favorite ensemble can be fun, too, especially because they know exactly what they want ... and they want it now! - www.bn.com.
