Horror movie fans can kick off the Halloween season right by meeting a collection of genre stars and participating in several activities at the second-annual Rapture Horror Expo in October.
Scheduled for Oct. 5 and Oct. 6 at the Double Tree Resort Phoenix/Tempe, the expo features a plethora of activities like tattoo artists, a creepy car show, contests, a zombie prom and an opportunity to audition for a local horror movie. The event will also raise money and toys for sick children through the Scares for Cares organization and provide information about the United Blood Services, which will collect blood from donors during the expo.
Highlighting the event is the appearance of a slew of horror actors ranging from “Night of the Living Dead” actresses Judith O’Dea and Judith Ridley to “House of 1,000 Corpses” actor Sid Haig to “Hatchet” and “Hatchet,” “Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers” and “Halloween 5” star Danielle Harris.
The Double Tree Resort is located at 2100 S. Priest Drive in Tempe, and admission costs between $30 and $100, although children 12 and under get in free. Visit rapturehorroexpo.com for more information.
