After five years, Burns It Up has announced that the troupe has found a new home at Center Pointe Dance, 4825 E. Warner Road, Suite 11, in Ahwatukee Foothills.

In addition to Burns It Up being the resident theater company of Center Pointe Dance, founder Karen Burns will also be offering classes for ages 5 and up, including musical theater, character dance and acting. Each class provides opportunities for students to expand their natural talent as well as build self-esteem and build trust in their own ideas, imagination and creativity.

The Center Pointe Dance studios offer Burns It Up the ability to reach more kids, as well as professional dance floors and space large enough for the troupe to offer additional opportunities, including community theatrical productions. Burns It Up members also have a wide range of additional class choices, such as ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, hip-hop and tumbling taught by dance professionals in the Valley.

Auditions for Burns It Up will be Saturday, Aug. 21, and require a prepared monologue, a short song emphasizing vocal strengths and brief choreography learned during the audition. Audition prep classes are offered from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Fridays, Aug. 6 and 13, and are highly recommended. Depending on the number of cast members chosen from the audition, one or two troupes will be formed and will have weekly rehearsals.

Burns It Up troupe(s) will have numerous performances throughout the year including benefits, community events and competition.
