A Mesa restaurant is hoping to offer connoisseurs of Mexican food and drink a not so party-hardy way to ring in Cinco de Mayo.

“If you’re looking for an upscale Cinco de Mayo celebration, a place where you can ... not have to worry about the crazy bar crowd, TQLA is your East Valley Cinco de Mayo spot,” said restaurant owner Scott Lindsey in a release. “We want families and those who love good Southwestern Mexican cuisine and great tequila to join us ....”

The Dana Park eatery, which serves more than 80 tequilas — including four that come out of the tap at frigid 5 degrees — will host a “Party on the Patio” on Sunday, May 5.

Revelers can win prizes that include TQLA gift cards and apparel and invitations to private tequila dinners and tastings. Specials on margaritas, tequila flights and fare like crawfish-and-spinach enchiladas and pumpkin seed-crusted salmon run all day.

TQLA is an 1840 S. Val Vista Drive. For information or reservations, call (480) 813-8752 or visit tqla.com.
