Birds 'n' Beer

Birds ‘n’ Beer serves up a cold craft brew and a lively talk on flora and fauna for the after-work crowd at Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audubon Center in Phoenix.

Every third Thursday, Audubon Arizona presents "Birds & Beer" -- a punchy, after-work lecture series where adults can learn a thing or two about nature and wildlife while enjoying a cold brew.

Dynamic speakers share fun facts about Arizona animals, and the conversation usually takes some interesting turns.

This month, stop off on the way home from the office for "The Aftermath -- Then Comes Baby in The Baby Carriage: Pregnancy in the Animal Kingdom," presented by Audubon's Valerie Ramos.

Birds & Beer takes place 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, (and the third Thursday of every month) at Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audubon Center, 3131 S. Central Ave., Phoenix. The event is free, but R.S.V.P. before you go at Audubon Arizona's Facebook page or by emailing
