What is the biggest challenge of staying healthy at your age?
“Staying injury free is huge because as you age it takes a lot more time for your body to recover from the activities you do.”
What is your biggest accomplishment?
“Completing the Ironman Arizona in 2007. It was a huge accomplishment to cross that finish line.”
What are your goals?
“I’m very focused on my kids. My son Zachary is 13 and is on a traveling baseball team, and my son Nicholas is 11 and does competitive gymnastics. I want to help them be successful at what they do by staying healthy and leading by example.”
What is your motivation to stay healthy and active?
“My biggest motivation is inspiring other people to change. There’s nothing that gets me more excited than taking someone that is de-conditioned and taking them somewhere they’ve never been before.”
Do you have any heroes?
“My wife and family inspire me like crazy. Also, my coach, George Esahak-Gage. He was almost killed a year ago and, right now, if we had to race he would beat me.”
