Childhood cancer epidemic

Cancer claims more children's lives than AIDS, Asthma, Cystic Fibrosis, Diabetes and Muscular Dystrophy combined. Currently, there are more than 40,000 American girls and boys battling cancer, and many will die. Toxic chemotherapy and radiation treatments may continue for as long as three years, with girls and boys hospitalized much of the time.

Children Against Cancer, a grassroots all volunteer nonprofit organization, was founded in 2001 in Phoenix by a mother and son who feel great compassion for babies, children and teens battling cancer. The heartbeat of the organization is to advance children as the top priority in the war against cancer by supporting research for new promising treatments, prevention and the health benefits of organic nutrition along with a green, natural lifestyle.

The charity will hold a Raffle For The Cure on Feb. 1 to raise vital funds for childhood cancer research. Visit www.childrenagainstcancer.org for more details, or to make tax-deductible donations.

For more information, call Caroline at (602) 789-1077.
