In addition to the spectacular fall foliage on the scenic excursion through Arizona's other grand canyon, prizes will be awarded for the best, funniest and scariest costumes worn by a child and adult. Chandler's Howlin' Halloween Spooktacular: 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Downtown Library plaza, 22 S. Delaware St., Chandler. All superheroes, ghosts, goblins, ghouls and other assorted creatures and characters are invited to an evening of family fun. There will be candy, games and arts and crafts for children; souvenir photos and costume contests for the entire family; and a haunted house. The costume parade and contest starts at 7 p.m., and prizes will be awarded for scariest, best comic book or cartoon character, best fairy tale or story book character, most original, and best family. In the event of inclement weather, festivities will be held next door inside the Community Center. Ghoulfland: through Nov. 1, Golfland/Sunsplash, 155 W. Hampton Ave., Mesa. The plague has eroded a 3,000-square-foot European-style house, turning the castle's gauntlet into a haunted house. For those easily scared, play 18 holes of miniature golf on the "ghoulf" course. Shadowlands Haunted Attraction: through Nov. 1, Fiesta Mall, 1445 W. Southern Ave., Mesa. Shadowlands, formerly know as The Revenant Haunted Attraction, is back with more chilling adventures. Haunt of the Living Dead: through Nov. 1, Mesa Riverview Shopping Center, northeast corner of Rio Salado Parkway and Dobson Road, across the parking lot from Chili's Restaurant. Doomtown at Rawhide at Wild Horse Pass: through Nov. 2, 5700 W. North Loop Road, Chandler. The town will be decorated in Halloween theme with glowing Jack-O-Lanterns and spider webbing, while headless horsemen, Ghost Riders, Digger Payne, Dr. Mortimer Morbius, and other creepy Western characters will be disbursed throughout the haunted town. Starting at 5:30 p.m., children and adults may experience the two spine-chilling haunted houses. Kids are invited to dress up and Trick-or-Treat throughout Main Street Oct. 30 and 31.
