Kai: Arizona’s 5-star/5-diamond restaurant

Kai restaurant at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa was awarded Forbes Travel Guide’s highest rating with the Five-Star Award. Kai now stands as one of only 17 Five-Star restaurants in all of North America and the only one in Arizona. Kai, the Pima word for “seed,” opened with the resort in October of 2002 with cuisine, coined “Native American with Global Accents” by the resort’s Michelin-trained executive chef, Michael O’Dowd. Kai is located at 5594 West Wild Horse Pass Boulevard in Chandler.

 

New SMCC Ahwatukee class helps small businesses with E-Verify

A new class scheduled for the South Mountain Community College Ahwatukee Foothills Center in December will help businesses needing to comply with new federal and state hiring requirements using the E-Verify system. “Hiring Within The Law: E-Verify and I-9 Compliance”(IND170AG) is a two-session. 0.5 credit course designed to help business owners understand the legal responsibilities of hiring as mandated by recent changes in the law. The course will include an overview of the E-Verify system and compliance with I-9 form data collection and storage. The class is scheduled for Tuesdays, Dec. 1 and 8, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. each evening. The class will take place at the SMCC Ahwatukee Foothills Center, 10429 S. 51st St., Suite 101, in Ahwatukee.
