Q: Where are you from and what did you do before opening your business?

A: I’m originally from Rochester, N.Y. I moved to Arizona in 1996 from Minneapolis, Minn. Before being a business owner, I worked in corporate sales for 25 years in the high-tech industry.

Q: Why did you open your business in Ahwatukee Foothills?

A: I like the community environment and how well interconnected everyone is.

Q: How did you get the idea to open your business?

A: I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit and I wanted to combine that with a more creative job. I had been designing homes for friends and family for many years so this was just a logical extension of that.

Q: What type of merchandise/services do you sell?

A: I offer everything for decorating a home: furniture, lighting, flooring, area rugs, wallpaper and accessories. We tackle jobs of all sizes and we come to you with product selections and room solutions.

Q: What does your business offer that no one else does?

A: From a single point of contact you can access merchandise and room solutions from more than 250 vendors across the U.S. and Canada in entry-level through high-end price ranges. We provide a total decorating service, which brings the products, services and vendors required to complete your job. Beyond what we personally provide, we have access to high quality, vetted contractors we can provide for almost any type of home decorating or remodeling project.

Q: How have residents of the community responded to your business?

A: I have over 200 clients in Ahwatukee Foothills.

Q: What does your business have in store for the future?

A: We are always seeking out new and interesting products and services to bring to our customers’ homes. Most homeowners do not realize that 90 percent of the selection of goods available in the world is not available at retail. The benefit of working with Decorating Den Interiors is that we provide access to all of those unique and different items that make your home a unique reflection of you and your lifestyle.

Healthcare reform
In a final push for a sweeping healthcare overhaul, President Barack Obama urged a simple "up-or-down" vote on the legislation. What would your vote be?
Up! Let's get this thing passed already!
The proposals look good on paper, but I'm still hesitant about its execution.
Down. It's time to go back to the drawing board.
