Q: Where are you from and what did you do before opening your business?
A: Kim is originally from Colorado and has lived in Phoenix for 15 years. Her background is in sales and marketing, and she has been a Curves member for three years. Bill was born and raised in Chicago. He moved to Phoenix 17 years ago to start a marketing and advertising firm.
Q: Why did you open your business in Ahwatukee Foothills?
A: Ahwatukee has the mix of residents that can appreciate the benefits Curves has to offer.
Q: How did you get the idea to open your business?
A: My mother owns a Curves in Woodland Park, Colo., and my aunt owns one in Cottage Grove, Ore. As a member of Curves, I know that it works and it’s fun.
Q: What type of merchandise/services do you sell?
A: Curves specializes in a 30-minute workout that includes all five components of exercise: warm up, cool down, cardio, strength training and stretching. It works every major muscle group, while keeping your heart rate in your target training zone.
Q: What does your business offer that no one else does?
A: Curves provides a safe, efficient and effective workout for women of all ages and fitness levels in an environment that’s comfortable and welcoming.
Q: How have residents of the community responded to your business?
A: The response has been overwhelming. Many women are excited to have Curves back in Ahwatukee again.
Q: What does your business have in store for the future?
A: We will empower women to achieve their fitness and weight loss goals.
Q: Anything else you want the community to know about you or your business?
A: We plan to upgrade our facility with CurveSmart. This is a state-of-the-art computer system that is personalized to keep you motivated and challenged.
