Culture Pass offers free admissions

The Phoenix public libraries have partnered with area museums to offer a Culture Pass, providing four free admissions to 13 local museums, including the Arizona Science Center, Phoenix Art Museum and the Phoenix Zoo. Using their valid library card, guests may check out a Culture Pass at local libraries, including the Ironwood Branch Library, at 4333 E. Chandler Blvd.

The library has a limited number of passes for each organization and they are available on a first-come, first-served basis. One Culture Pass may be checked out per person, per loan period of seven days, and other restrictions apply. Passes are available through April 1, 2010.

For more information, visit www.phxlib.org then type in "culture pass admission" in the search box. A listing of available museums will appear. To see what's available at Ironwood, click on the "Limit results to" box and go to "Checked In - Ironwood." Details are also available by clicking on the "Culture Pass" icon at www.showup.com.

Wicked announces lottery for $25 seats

A day-of-performance lottery for 20 orchestra seats will be held daily for the musical Wicked, on stage through July 26 at Arizona State University's Gammage Auditorium. Each day, people who present themselves at the box office two-and-a-half hours prior to show time will have their names placed in a lottery drum. Thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for a limited number of orchestra seats at $25 each, cash only. This lottery is available only in person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person. Lines will not be permitted to form earlier than two-and-a-half hours prior to show time. This is a random drawing lottery, so your place in line will not affect the outcome.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays to Fridays; and 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Tickets - $32 to $143.50 - are available by calling 1-800-982-ARTS (2787), online at www.ticketmaster.com/wicked and through Ticketmaster outlets. Visit www.asugammage.com for additional information.

Healthcare reform
In a final push for a sweeping healthcare overhaul, President Barack Obama urged a simple "up-or-down" vote on the legislation. What would your vote be?
Up! Let's get this thing passed already!
The proposals look good on paper, but I'm still hesitant about its execution.
Down. It's time to go back to the drawing board.
