A Christmas present and a lot of passion are what caused Ahwatukee Foothills resident Dyanna Wooten to open her own workout studio in Ray Ranch Circle Plaza.
Wooten said she’s always been interested in working out. She has taught classes at gyms, trained celebrities in Palm Springs and Los Angeles and is a Beachbody Coach. After years of teaching and training Wooten finally decided to open her own studio and it became her Christmas present this year.
“My husband knew I wanted to do this,” she said. “I knew I wanted to be in Ahwatukee. I wanted to be five minutes away from my house. I kept calling around. I looked around for months. I found this place and called the agent and they were so gracious. They took a chance on me.”
As a Beachbody Coach Wooten is certified to teach the INSANITY workout, which is often seen on national infomercials. Wooten said she bought the INSANITY DVDs one year, did it for a week, and put it down. A year later she picked it up again, did it for a month, and was about to walk away when her daughter encouraged her to finish, so she did. She said she realizes a commitment to working out comes in waves. That was the inspiration for the name of her own studio.
“I understand that a workout is a personal journey,” Wooten said. “I want to help them work out the ‘inconsistent-seas’ together. I want them to know this is a place they can come and not be judged but get their work and their sweat in. With me you can commit.”
INSANITY is a 60-day workout challenge. Participants work out six days a week. Wooten charges a studio fee of $5 per class, but guarantees results. She also has a few deals for people who have purchased INSANITY in the past and given up on it or who bring a friend to a class.
In addition to INSANITY classes, Fitness Waves offers Hays American Kenpo Karate with David Hays, a Fit Kids class, and Zumba with Yanilda Rivera. Wooten said she’s also searching for a certified yoga instructor to hold classes in her studio.
