Police found a woman bound inside her Ahwatukee Foothills apartment early Friday morning after responding to a call of a suspicious person.

Around 12:30 a.m. on Friday, Phoenix police got a call from a neighbor who said they had seen a black male hiding in the bushes and heard a neighbor’s window being broken, said Sgt. Steve Martos of the Phoenix Police Department.

When police arrived at the scene in the 3200 block of East Chandler Boulevard they saw there was a broken window but could not locate any suspects.

“Officers were unable to obtain an answer at the door and made entry through the broken window,” Martos said in a statement. “Once inside they located the female victim bound and laying on her bed. The victim was unable to provide information to officers as to what had occurred.”

The victim was a 28-year-old female. She was injured and received medical attention.

The investigation is ongoing. Martos said police have limited information to go on. Anyone with information in encouraged to call Silent Witness at (480) WITNESS.
