With the election now over, candidates and residents with plastic or cardboard election signs are encouraged to recycle them at the following transfer station locations: 27th Avenue Transfer Station, 3060 S. 27th Ave.; North Gateway Transfer Station, 30205 N. Black Canyon Highway; and ReCommunity, 1919 E. University Drive.

The deadline to remove political signs is Wednesday, Nov. 21. The signs must be disassembled (wire and wooden stakes removed) and sorted into separate bins at the transfer station. Large signs must be cut into pieces no larger than 3 feet by 3 feet. Small quantities of disassembled signs may be cut up and placed in residential blue recycling bin.

If you bring in signs for recycling, inform the scalehouse clerk that you have election signs or recyclables, otherwise you will be charged the regular garbage rate. If you have trash you will be charged.

For more information, call the city’s Public Works Department at (602) 262-7251.
