New Image Family Medicine has been growing in Ahwatukee Foothills since 2006 and on Oct. 1 they’ll double again, adding a complete medical spa to their location at 13838 S. 46th Place, Suite 120.

Dr. Philo A. Rogers said opening the medical spa has been a dream of his and his wife, Stephanie’s, for years. The space next door opened up so they decided to go for it.

The medical spa will double the square footage New Image Family Medicine occupies. There will be six treatment rooms for a variety of treatments. The spa will provide Botox injections, microdermabrasion, juviderm, weight-loss treatments, hormone replacement therapy, eyelash treatments, chemical peels, facials, and a variety of treatments lasers can do from hair removal to spider vein and acne treatments.

“Many of our patients we send out to dermatologists or are already going to some kind of esthetician somewhere for Botox, juviderm, lasers or skin remodeling,” Rogers said. “We decided there’s an opportunity there and it goes hand-in-hand with what we already do.”

Rogers said his goal is to really show the difference between many of the “med” spas in the market and a true medical spa. By law, a provider should be on hand when any laser treatments are being completed. While New Image Family Medicine’s medical spa will have licensed and certified estheticians doing the treatments, a provider will always be on hand to provide extra counseling or recommendations. The new facility also has state-of-the art digital tests that will help the doctors map a patient’s results and determine if the treatment is effective for them.

“Our key is better results,” he said. “We want to be able to map and see for clients and for ourselves better results. That’s what’s going to set us apart.”

Rogers has been practicing family medicine since 1995. He opened New Image Family Medicine in 2006 and expanded the business in 2009, adding an additional provider.
