Even founder Joe Busone was surprised that in just seven months his eatery, Fired Up Grill, was attracting so many loyal regulars. But the numbers don’t lie, and readers voted Fired Up Grill as the place they would go for the “Best Evening Out” and “Best Place To Have Dinner.”
Obviously the food and the ambiance has to be just right, but Busone, who has 40 years in the business and left Bucca de Beppo last year to start his own restaurant, says much of the credit for his success goes to his “phenomenal” staff members who really care about helping customers.
Busone obviously knows the business because one of his bartenders, Billy Woodmansee, also was voted “Best Bartender” by readers. “He cares – he makes you feel comfortable when you sit at the bar,” Busone said.
