First Place: Dr. Roger McCoy, M.D. (University Sports Medicine)15810 S. 45th St., No. 101(480) 222-3384

What is it that makes Dr. Roger McCoy, owner of the Ahwatukee Foothills-based University Sports Medicine practice, and his associates so successful?

The experience, McCoy says, noting that opportunities to work with all shapes and sizes of athletes - from amateur to college, pros to Olympians - has allowed the USM staff to "bring that expertise to all of our patients."

Another goal for McCoy, who readers named "Best Medical Doctor" in Ahwatukee Foothills for 2008, is to continually be one of the "best communicating and accessible practices in the Valley.

"It's truly flattering and somewhat humbling to be appreciated in such a way," McCoy said. "We're continually amazed by the trust that our patients and families put in us."
