Sometimes simple is better. A visit to In-N-Out will be one of those times.
With employees boasting old-school carhop-style uniforms and friendly smiles, and a menu with killer prices, it's still the food that wins the day at this Southern California-based burger stand, now celebrating its 60th year of operation.
Milkshakes (chocolate, vanilla or strawberry), sodas, freshly-cut French fries and burgers are all she wrote, but that doesn't mean patrons can't find a little variety. Choose a double-double (double meat, double cheese) instead of a regular cheeseburger, or ask for yours to be prepared any number of special secret ways. If you dare, try your burger animal-style (grilled onions, extra sauce, extra pickles, mustard-cooked beef) or protein-style (wrapped in lettuce, no bun), or tell the nice people at the counter just how you want it.
